Craig Bedard brings more than four decades of coaching, teaching, and player development experience to Okanagan Hockey Academy. A former BCJHL player, Craig continued his playing career at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (NCAA), where he served as Team Captain while earning his Bachelor of Education.
Following graduation, Craig spent 14 years as an educator while establishing himself as a respected high-performance coach. During that time, he served as Head Coach of Team Pacific at the 2006 World Under-17 Challenge and Head Coach of Team BC at the 2007 Canada Winter Games. He later transitioned to junior hockey, serving as an Assistant Coach with the BCHL’s Penticton Vees before joining the WHL’s Prince Albert Raiders.
Since joining Okanagan Hockey Academy in 2013 and has led both the U18 Prep and U15 Prep programs. Outside of OHA, Craig has also served as an Assistant Coach with Team BC at the 2023 WHL Cup.
Today, Craig serves as Manager of Female Teams and Head Coach of the U18 Female Prep Black team, where he provides leadership and direction for OHA’s female hockey program. Working alongside academy leadership, he helps guide the program’s continued growth through recruitment, player development, and team operations while creating an environment that supports student-athletes in reaching their full potential both on and off the ice.
