Rob McLaughlin brings more than 20 years of coaching experience and a long-standing connection to Okanagan Hockey Academy, where he serves as an Assistant Coach with the U17 team.
Rob’s coaching background and experience includes time in the BCHL, KIJHL, and presently is a scout with the Penticton Vees in the WHL. He has also played a significant role in the BC Hockey High-Performance Program, serving as a Head District Evaluator and coaching within the high-performance system.
Rob’s connection to Okanagan Hockey spans more than four decades, during which he has held a variety of key roles throughout the Academy. He has served as a Head Coach for three years and as an Assistant Coach with multiple teams at the U15 to U18 levels. He has also held the role of Manager of Operations, where he was instrumental in supporting the Academy, summer camps, and the planning, scheduling, logistics, and day-to-day operations of the program.
A Certified Power Skating Instructor, Rob has also worked with numerous high-profile players, helping athletes develop their skating, skills, and overall game. His extensive experience and long-standing commitment to OHA give him a deep understanding of player development and the Academy’s student-athlete pathway.
Rob brings a wealth of knowledge, a strong work ethic, and a genuine passion for helping young athletes improve. He is committed to supporting the development of OHA student-athletes both on and off the ice while helping prepare them for the next stage of their hockey journey.
