Jesse Hammill brings extensive coaching and playing experience to Okanagan Hockey Academy, where he serves as Head Coach of the U18 Women’s Prep Team. With a coaching career that began at the age of 17, Jesse has spent decades working with players at a wide range of levels and is passionate about helping young athletes reach their potential.
Before transitioning fully into coaching, Jesse spent 13 years as a player, including stops in Europe that provided him with valuable experience competing in different hockey environments. His playing career continues to shape his coaching approach, giving him a firsthand understanding of the challenges and opportunities athletes face throughout their development.
Jesse’s coaching experience spans multiple leagues and levels, including the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League and the English Premier Ice Hockey League, as well as youth and university hockey. His extensive experience has allowed him to work with players at different stages of their development while building a strong understanding of what is required to progress to the next level.
In recent years, Jesse has focused heavily on female player development. As Owner and Operator of Elite Female Hockey Development, he worked closely with U18 athletes, helping them develop their game while also supporting their pathways to college hockey. He also served as Head Coach and General Manager of the Vancouver Island Seals in the BCEHL U18 Female AAA division.
Drawing on his experience as both a player and coach, Jesse brings a strong understanding of the female hockey pathway and a genuine passion for developing young athletes. He is committed to helping student-athletes build their skills, confidence, and character while preparing them for the next stage of their hockey and academic journey.
