Attention U13 & U15 Female Hockey Players (Born 2011-2013)!
We are excited to announce the OHA Female Program Open House and Showcase from April 3-5, 2025, in the beautiful town of Penticton, BC. This event is designed for aspiring female hockey players to learn more about life as a student-athlete at Okanagan Hockey Academy (OHA), while showcasing their skills to both OHA and USport/NCAA coaches.
Whether you’re looking to develop your game, explore collegiate opportunities, or simply experience what it’s like to be an OHA student-athlete, this event offers an unforgettable and action-packed weekend.
Event Highlights:
- OHA Information Session: Learn about the OHA experience, from academic programs to hockey development. Discover the pathways that OHA offers to help young female athletes reach their full potential both on the ice and in the classroom.
- College Coach Hot Stove: Engage in an open conversation with USport/NCAA coaches, ask questions, and gather advice on advancing your hockey career to the collegiate level.
- On-Ice Skills Session: Participate in a dynamic on-ice session led by OHA’s professional coaches, designed to help you improve your hockey skills while gaining insights from collegiate-level expertise.
- Strength and Conditioning Session: Train with OHA’s Head of Strength and Conditioning, Paul Bisnauth, to improve your physical performance and reduce injury risks using evidence-based training principles.
- Dedicated Goalie Ice Session: Goalies will have a specialized session led by OHA Head Goalie Instructor, Lucas Gore, who brings experience working with the WHL’s Spokane Chiefs. Get expert feedback and refine your goaltending skills.
- 2x Showcase Games: Participate in two full showcase games where you can put your skills on display. OHA coaches and college scouts will be actively watching and providing guidance in real-time.
- Small Area Games Ice Session: This session will focus on small area games designed to enhance your key skills like skating, passing, puck control, and shooting, while also developing essential game-play concepts and habits.
- School Tour: Get a guided tour of OHA Penticton’s campus and learn about the academic programs available to student-athletes. Discover how OHA prepares you for both your hockey and academic journey.
