*NOTE: During the first week of The Program Elite Training in Kelowna, all athletes will undergo a comprehensive evaluation to assess skill level, pace, and overall fit within their group. Based on these evaluations, some movement between groups may occur to ensure each athlete is training alongside like-skilled players. This approach allows us to create the most competitive and development-focused environment possible, helping every athlete get the maximum benefit from their experience.

MEET THE COACHING STAFF

TRAVIS MARTELL, STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH

Travis Martell brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his work with young athletes. After completing his Junior hockey career, Travis earned the opportunity to play at the NCAA level, where he also achieved a degree in Exercise Science. It was during this time that training became not only his passion but a core aspect of his life.

With over a decade of experience, Travis has worked with young athletes in various settings, including one-on-one training, camps, as well as through remote coaching. In 2008, he earned hisย Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)ย designation through theย National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Travis combines his professional playing background with his educational expertise to help young hockey players reach their full potential.

MARK FITZGERALD,ย STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH

โ€‹Mark has spent the last 15 years working with athletes from a variety of sports at every level. He began his career with the Toronto Maple Leafโ€™s organization and most recently was the head of performance for the Anaheim Ducks.

Mark is the founder of Elite Training Systems in Ontario, which has grown to 4 locations servicing athletes from all major and minor sports. Mark also serves as a consultant for a number of health and performance organizations. Currently, Mark serves as a member of the Under Armour Training Team. His role is to build out high-performance training initiatives for the brand.

JARED AULIN,ย COACH

Jared Aulin, owner of Aulin Proformance Hockey, is a highly respected hockey skills coach with over 16 years of professional playing experience and a passion for helping young players develop the right way. Each summer, he works with high level NHL talent, bringing those same standards, habits, and teaching methods directly into his youth camps.

Jaredโ€™s approach focuses on teaching skills that transfer into games through decision making situations. Players work on skating, puck control, passing, and a strong emphasis on wall play, recognizing that over 80 percent of the game is played along the boards, while building habits like eyes up, scanning, and making plays under pressure.

He believes the game has become too robotic at a young age, and his goal is to help players think, create, and adapt in real time. Practices are fast, engaging, and competitive, helping players build confidence and hockey sense.

Known for his energy and ability to connect with players, Jared creates a positive environment where kids are encouraged to push themselves, be creative, and enjoy the process. Players leave camp with improved skills and a better understanding of how to apply them in game situations.

BRETT MCLEAN,ย COACH

Brett McLean brings elite-level experience to the Kelowna Summer Training Program. A native of Comox, British Columbia, Brett enjoyed an 18-year professional hockey career, including nearly 400 NHL games with the Chicago Blackhawks, Colorado Avalanche and Florida Panthers after being drafted by the Dallas Stars.

Following his playing days, Brett transitioned into coaching and has served at multiple levels of pro hockey. After roles as an assistant coach in the AHL and NHL, including with the Minnesota Wild, he was named head coach of the Iowa Wild and most recently joined the Vancouver Canucksโ€™ NHL coaching staff.
