Okanagan Hockey Group Congratulates Dave Nackoney on His Retirement and New Role with OHA Penticton
Okanagan Hockey Group would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Dave Nackoney on his well-earned retirement from Penticton Secondary School and School District 67 after a remarkable career in education.
After much consideration, Dave has decided to step away from his role as Vice Principal at Penticton Secondary School at the end of this school year. Reflecting on his time in this position, Dave shared his gratitude: “It has been a privilege to be part of a community that exemplifies professionalism, commitment, and passion.”
While this marks the end of his administrative career, we are thrilled to announce that Dave will be taking on a new full-time role with Okanagan Hockey Group, focusing his energy on supporting OHAโs student-athletes in the 2025-2026 school year.
“I look forward to continuing to work with OHAโs talented staff and being actively involved in the rink, gym, and school, supporting our young athletesโ growth and development,” said Nackoney.
Daveโs new role will focus on academic advising and student support, including Course Programming & NCAA Requirements, Personal Counseling & Student Guidance and Post-Secondary Preparation & University Collaboration.
Dave has been a key part of the Okanagan Hockey Academy since 2003, serving as a dedicated counselor for both OHA and the KISU Swim Club. He holds a Bachelor of Education and a Masters in Counseling from Brandon University in Manitoba. As a former university basketball player, he won two Canadian Championships and was named an All-Canadian.
